- Pre-registration ($35 per person)  [minimum of 2 per raft if competing in raft competition]

Canoe and Kayak Race - Come out and join us for the exciting Canoe/Kayak Race. Win great prizes and show your support for the River at the same time!

- Canoe/Kayak Race details

- The race will be approximately six miles 

- Launches will begin from Savannah Rapids Pavilion at 9:00 AM and continue until all racers have entered the water and end at the Boat House in East Augusta

- Racers are asked to bring their boats to the large gravel parking lot just inside the entry gate at Savannah Rapids Pavilion

Home-made Raft Competition - The raft competition is meant to be fun for all, participants and spectators. We encourage friends, families, businesses, churches, college classes, or any other cohesive social unit to get together to have fun designing and constructing a raft for the competition.   

- Raft Competition details

- There will be prizes for design, originality and First Loser*

- Rafts will be launched from the North Augusta Boat Ramp (Hammond's Ferry) starting at 9:30 AM. 

- The length of the trip is approximately 2.5 miles

- All rafts will be checked for floatability and alcohol** before launch.  Failure in either case will disqualify the raft for entry into the competition. 

- Your raft will have to be fast enough to beat most of the rafts to the finish line, but be under sufficient control to stay short of the finish line until another raft crosses that line 

 

* ”The First Loser” puts emphasis on speed and control and most importantly fun. The raft that crosses the finish line second will claim the prize First Loser

** Lack of flotation or presence of alcohol. [Alcohol will be available at the finish line when the competitors are off the water]
